I am a veteran Marine turned artist and I cosplay for fun on the side. In 2013 I was honorably discharged and traded my rifle in for a paintbrush.
Being an artist has been a long standing dream of mine that I never thought was a possibility. I tried drawing for years with little prosperity but this last year, my Dad gave me an acrylic paint set and my art just took off. Having finally found my niche, I want to expand into a business and share my paintings with all of you!

The problem with perfection

I don't know about the rest of you but I really struggle with finishing art. I have pages and pages of half sketched pieces where I had an idea, worked and worked on it, went over it over and over again with my pencils and essentially lost my original vision for it months later and never finished. I try so hard for perfection that I will never reach, that I lose my original artistic idea entirely. So to try and combat that I tried a "one sitting" piece. I had an entirely original idea with no references and just drew until it was done. It's not perfect, I missed the mark on creating depth or realistic shadow and some of the birds outlines are
